What Now? Use Feng Shui to Reconnect to the Future
The clock and calendar measure time. It is undeniable. The beginning of last New Year, I encouraged you to work with the Earth Ox of 2009 by plowing slowly and steadily, taking a break now and then, and decide what seeds to plant for 2010. I learned many years ago to work with the energies of a year, and not against them, as paddling against the current will cost time, money and health. Pulling weeds from a garden in an Earth-sign fertile month such as Taurus or Virgo will only stimulate the plant, but weeding in a Fire month, such as Sagittarius or Leo will ensure a weed-free garden. Scheduling workshops during a Mercury Retrograde will only confuse everyone, as things are likely to change, sending all your preparation for the classes into the trash bin. The Moon will continue to produce energies affecting tides and cycling of natures secrets concerning women and the plant world. Our Sun brings light and Yang Chi to grow the grain and Fire to bake the bread, but also it is Fire Chi that propels sperm into the dark womb of Yin to create life.
Excess of any kind will throw things out of balance. Too much Water, too much Wood, too much Fire, Earth or Metal will destroy the environment, and human behavior will deteriorate. The Earth Ox of 2009 was not a happy year for many people as the dirt of the past caught up with those who were hiding secrets, lying to others and themselves. We got our comeuppance, as they say. Greed was exposed, lifted into the light, examined and tossed to the winds along with peoples lifestyles, their possessions, bank accounts and peace of mind. In the aftermath of such an energy shift, mind, body and spirit become jolted, bruised and disillusioned.
Last years upheaval was necessary. The whole world, and Im sure the cosmos, felt the disturbance. It took us years and years to clutter our land, our water, minds and bodies, but hopefully most of us have learned the lessons of excess. I have seen houses so filled to the brim with possessions, that only a pathway could be seen leading from room to room. How many plastic jugs, containers and toys can you buy? How many TVs, computers and things can you store? When do you say no to yourself and your children? We now have two generations of hoarders. I rarely meet parents who expect chores of their kids, because they were not held accountable as children to help around the house. With both parents working, balance and harmony went out the window. Possessions gave empty comfort to the lonely as they sank deeper into disappear of What Now?
Now time and space demand we reconsider, reevaluate, reconnect, redefine, reestablish, realign and replenish in responsible ways. What now? you say. Now is the time to face the New Year with a Grand Plan, I answer. Are you ready? I will be in Benicia April 8, 2010 for a couple of weeks teaching advanced Feng Shui Techniques, only used by Master Practitioners to weather the storm of the recession.
