Using Special Art

The month of November is a very special one for the LAN SU CHINESE GARDENS in Portland, Oregon. I have been invited to do four lectures at on the correct placement of art using Feng Shui principles, which can change any space. Your goal is to make sure your art is working with your house and not against it! Below are some tips about where to hang your pictures, paintings and posters according to the Elements of the Bagua or 9 sections of your home or business.

One of the easiest ways to change the Chi of any space is to hang artwork. A simple system can be adapted by using the power of the ancient wheel, called a Bagua, to support Careers, Knowledge, Family, Wealth, Partnerships, Health, Children and Creative pursuits, Helpful People and Travel of this template. You can use own art or purchase new art for this adjustment.

To create a visual balance according to Feng Shui principles and invite positive Chi flow into your living and working spaces, and choosing artwork, which enhances the Guas or areas of the space is crucial. Choosing visual art images that clash with the Element of a space can cause unrest and a depletion of vital Chi or energy needed to support and replenish our personal well-being.

This lecture will explain the importance of Chi flow starting in the home, flowing into your city, the countries of the world and the world. The 5 Major Elements, their colors and shapes come alive through décor and art. The Mouth of Chi or flow of energy begins at your architectural front door and travels around the Bagua in a constructive cycle, nurturing each section of each aspect in the Guas. This entry is the pathway to proper placement of your artwork.

How to Accomplish These Adjustments

1.Placement of the Bagua to determine the Mouth of Chi.

2. Go around the Bagua clockwise starting at Career. Explain and identify each Element according to the color of the Gua and what the color will give to the space. Describe the Elemental shape and body part.

3. Start at the Career Gua and explain how to activate each Gua through the focal point of the painting, subject of the piece, and the color of the piece and the shapes of what is being depicted in the artwork.

4. Give drawing demonstration of what Career, Knowledge, Family, Wealth, Fame, Health, Partnership and Helpful People and Travel pictures should look like.

5. Combine décor and art. Shapes of furniture, rugs, textures, murals, wall hangings, tile paintings, 3 dimensional artworks.

6. Example might be an arrangement of a desert mountain painting combined with a green plant and a water fountain or a picture of a Family tree WOOD in a METAL Gua, such as Children and Creativity, you would add round white crystals, bulbs or round pastel bulbs to balance Wood and Metal to neutralize the Wood chopping Metal!

Some secrets of artwork…the silent language of the world!

1.Add hidden color to bring harmony to a home.

2. Add hidden symbols such as shapes to bring balance to a family.
