Selling? Use Feng Shui

Buying a home can be a pleasant experience. Selling one is more complicated. The whole family unit is usually involved and you can bet at least one person in the family is dragging their feet, causing an energetic tug of war. I can certainly understand, as I have been on both sides of “the rope,” usually the one kicking and screaming no, no, not again! Is the grass greener on the other side of the fence? Most of the time. If my husband had given into my tantrums, I would have missed the most important phases of my life. Besides the oblivious change of scenery, the limitations of Career in a small Midwest town are confining. Be careful when you hear yourself chanting, “I will always live within 40 miles of my folks,” or “California is wild, I will never live there.” … “Arizona? No way, it’s hot, miserable, don’t make me!” … “New Mexico? Well maybe, I can paint there” ... “Oregon for how long?” … “Washington, why there? It’s 2000 miles from the Midwest.” I learned quickly that if I wanted to stay married it was easier to just shake out my “wings” and enjoy the scenery. So I have regressed once again, but the point is – try change, but don’t forget to enjoy the journey. It is transforming on all levels.

Now that the decision to sell has been made, it is time for several family meetings to discuss the move. Bring to the meeting information and pictures of the new location or city. Visually acquaint everyone with the environment and its possibilities. Bring excitement or the Fire Element into the move with these pictures. Red is the color and action is the energy. Use red flyers, a red table cloth and maybe a large brilliant flower arrangement in the room where the news is unveiled. A table fountain bubbling in the background is also a good idea, as Water encourages things to move forward. There is a reason for what I am proposing. You don’t want anyone’s feet dragging, which slows the sale of the house. Words and thoughts are powerful. I see more sales fail because, unconsciously or consciously, someone in the family is fearful of leaving the known and venturing into the unknown.

I had three calls last week with questions on how to sell standing property. On further investigation and questioning, I find someone in the house can’t let go. The energy from this stuck thought lingers in the house and the potential buyers feel unwelcome. Everything could look in perfect selling order, but there is that low underlying “current” of resistance seeping inside and outside the dwelling. Let’s say you have done all the things the realtor has suggested such as fresh flowers, fruit, and aroma-therapy, cleared the clutter, trimmed the bushes, laid new carpet, loaned your pets out for the day and even done an advanced house inspection, but the property still doesn’t move. It is time for Feng Shui remedies and cures.

Have a trained, experienced consultant make a visit or call me to evaluate the stuck energy. A “missing piece” to a house can be fixed easily with a mirror or wind chimes placed in the right location. The “missing piece” could be the Wealth Corner of the house, or the Helpful People could be home to a fireplace, where the Fire Element is “melting” the Metal and Water sector of the house. Another big problem could be an outbuilding disconnected from the main house in the Partnership Gua or far back left side of the home. This can cause divorce, as one of the partners could feel like leaving the main house and go to another dwelling. Energy flows in all directions, but a nice flow of Chi feels good. That is our goal.

Solutions come in many forms such as REFLECTIVE or REFRACTIVE OBJECTS like lights, crystals and mirrors. MOVING OBJECTS which raise Chi are fountains, wind chimes or moving windmills. Use MOVING WATER, SOUND, or WEIGHTY OBJECTS like rocks to ground the Helpful People side or the right front of the house. TRADITIONAL CHINESE CURES are another good way to bring good energy into the home such as fish, bamboo flutes, money plants and Bagua-shaped mirrors and furniture or rugs. Maybe you are lacking certain colors and plants for vitality.

Don’t forget the hang appropriate paintings in the proper Guas or sections of the home. Examples could be a Water subject picture near the front door to enhance the Career or job opportunities of those wanting to buy the property. Placing a Water picture in the Center or Tai Chi of a house could make the occupants of the home feel unhealthy, as this is the Earth Gua of the dwelling which the home of HEALTH. That would be too much Water for the Center of the house. Colors of yellow and other earth tones in the artwork would give the feeling of stability to the structure. Check your children’s bedroom for clues to the wrong images on the walls. Gothic images are not the best images to show when trying to sell.

If your child says no to your selling cures, then you have a problem. Who is in charge here? And when did you loose control? This is another topic, which can be written about later, but I must share a one quick story on the subject. I have had two separate clients recently under the age of 40 whose children were experiencing head pain, couldn’t focus in school and have been diagnosed with learning disabilities, sleeping problems and the 6 year old has a brain tumor. The young children’s beds in both cases are backed up to toilets on a sharing wall. My first request was change the position of the bed now! The pull of the water in the pipes behind their head, have such a heavy downward action that it can cause brain trauma. Both mothers looked me in the eyes and said, “That is the only way the bed will fit” and “Johnny” likes it that way! Even if they thought I was a lunatic, I would listen and try anything to help my child. Feng Shui Principles are over 4-5000 years old. I think that they have done enough “double studies.” I have seen life-changing results by just changing the position of a person’s bed.

Last, but not least, place the Chi activators, adjusters, enhancers, lifters and stabilizers in place and set the INTENTION with a sincere heart. This is the key! Light a candle and welcome the new buyer with open arms at the entryway to your house, see them embracing and loving the space. Now you might offer the Lord’s Prayer or the mantra Om Mad Ne Pad Me Hum, which is world blessing of love and compassion. This will set all the cures and intentions in place. This action is usually enough to get you to your next location and home. If you still have problems, there are transcendental cures which can be done by a qualified consultant. Call if you need me! Good Luck.
