Relationship Corner of Bagua
It seems as if most people desire a relationship. Love is at the top of everyone’s lists, and Feng Shui adjustments can help individuals find and keep a mate. It is human nature to share our lives and be supported during good and not-so-good times. Life experiences do happen, and having lived through many wonderful and not-so-wonderful life experiences, I have opted to use Feng Shui as a way to assist life’s ups and downs. I have practiced the Art of Placement in our homes for over 20 years, and I can say Feng Shui does work. I have been known to be a big skeptic as I was born in Missouri; I had to be shown Feng Shui and the flow of Chi. Seen and unseen energy does occur throughout our body and the atmosphere. Energy can be measured as technology has proven, and I can see with my eyes that stacks of paper, old furniture and broken objects do affect my well-being, so I continue to pass on some of the things I have learned from my teachers. I hope you try some of the suggestions I offer as they will take some of the stress from your daily routine. Here is an email from the main island of Hawaii, land of spirit.

Hi, I don’t know if you’d be willing to answer this. I read your article. My bedroom is in the far right corner, but it’s a loft and below it, the house continues some. So there is an empty space in the layout there on the bottom floor. Picture an extension below it. Not sure how to cure it, books have said, put something on the roof...put mirrors in the bedroom??

Hi, I will get back to you in a few days, as I’m having fun entertaining a friend from Arizona and we are off to catch a ferry to an island.
Where do you live? What does the lot shape look like? Are you on a hill or below the ground, as shining a light up to the right spot on the house might be a good idea.
What do you want to happen in your life? Do you have a partner? As this is your bedroom, we can also use color and mirrors. What is happening in the bottom story in the front left section of your house in the knowledge area? This section is related to partnership.

Hi, I live on Oahu. My front left part is an entrance hall, with plants, paintings, etc. I will look into that.
I’ve placed mirrors like you said to expand the walls upstairs to make a fake second story beyond that room on two sides. I’m currently single. I attract unavailable men.
I have bright colors up in the bedroom, have twosies there as well as pictures of couples below. In the same corner I have added more twosies, and the colors are pinks, greens etc.

Hello again!
Without knowing the shape of the land plot, the terrain, view and so forth, I will only suggest enhancements and possible corrections for the inside living space. After checking the inside and outside property, we go into the main dwelling and began to take note of sections of the home that are cluttered or rooms which are never used. Rooms that are never used are lost spaces, and life-flowing Chi becomes stuck and they become “dead” areas. So be sure to look outside at wheelbarrows, tools and old falling down outbuildings for stuck energy or illness that is puzzling (since body parts are related to each Gua, and Feng Shui, when applied, works like acupuncture of the house). Example: An arrow-shaped dead tree aiming at your dining table while eating can feel as if a finger is continually pointed at your body. Look around the house for any protrusion that has this effect.
How do we jump-start an inactive area of a living space? Through bright objects, sounds, living objects, moving objects, heavy objects, or electrically powered objects in the business section of the house or business, such as the sound of an air conditioner in the Fame Gua, which will raise profits! Bamboo flutes from the Yun Lin Temple or fengshuishopper.com (Marina Lighthouse) will provide your home with the finest type of bamboo flutes for Feng Shui purposes. Placing these objects in a room, home or business help to add the five necessary Elements to a space. I have also created the 5 Element folded greeting cards to use as a correction for any room.
In your situation, a master bedroom in the Partnership Gua or far back right corner of the dwelling is the natural placement for adult or parent sleeping. We want the comfort of a Yin-female or Earth Element location for good health, and if there are any children in the home, this far back right corner is the best location for the parents to “hold the fort.” For bedroom colors, choosing earth tones of yellow and pink, pink, red and white with a touch of green for growth of relationships is a way of bringing support to a loving Partnership.
A loft bedroom, especially on Oahu, could be a great way to enjoy an ocean view. My husband and I lived in Makaha Valley for a year, so I can feel the island’s energy as I write to you. It is a special spirit which moves through the islands and can only be found in Hawaii. Its softness is unreal, and the mountains whisper as you sleep. (Back to reality for a moment.) So your question concerns two things. How do you join the upper loft with the lower living area? Place lights in the other corners of the house shining upward toward the loft. They don’t need to be lit, although I would turn them on for a while to active them. Place a mirror in the Knowledge section or the front left corner from the front door, shining toward the loft. This Gua is an Earth-related section which will support both Triads. An outside spotlight shining up to the loft will also help.
If there is clutter in either section, clear it out! Don’t forget to remove any “stuff” from under the bed, and make sure the bed isn’t on a wall door or the headboard isn’t against a bathroom wall, as sickness will result. (Think of the pipes taking sewage downward behind your head, ugh). A closet with too many clothes can give a warning to a potential mate that you have “no room” for anyone else to share a life, or that you will get him in debt if he continues seeing you. Sleeping with your pets is also a turn off for many men and some women! One big no-no is a litter box or bathroom opening next to your bed. Email me for more on those situations.
