West Meets East© By Caroline Patrick New Business in Older Building
Recently a former client contacted me with another question about her and her husband’s new business which has been opened after much renovation to the original structure. All of my clients are encouraged to contact me before leasing, buying or renting a space for a business venture. There are many things to consider before finalizing a deal on a potential location, and I welcome their final questions to help the business become a great success. Remember, the home is not to be ignored, because this is the place to restore your health and well being. So clear out the clutter in the house before your new business is opened, as everything you own is you! Sorry, I have to think about this every time I add something to my house also. I try to get rid of something before bringing any new objects into the dwelling.
Check the address for auspicious numbers such as 8s or 9s or a combination containing both. The number 8 symbolizes riches and 9 secures prosperity for the business. A good location is necessary for growth so look at other business surrounding the site. Your building should be similar in height, as a taller structure could overpower your endeavors. Where are the bathrooms located on the floor plan? A far back left location of a toilet will need a correction of mirrors on the outside walls to deflect the bathroom location, and there are several other cures for the fast downward flow of water when flushing the necessary object! This Wealth Gua or section of the floor plan is designed for the office of the president or manager to sit. Facing the door in an ideal situation for welcoming new business and customers. But don’t despair if your blueprint is not up to a perfect Bagua fit. There are other options when making these decisions. Sometimes during reconstruction a door or window is boarded over and the original “gateway” closed. The energy must be redirected. Everything is energy. We are all energy on some level. People, living and stationary objects, all contain a measured amount of Chi or energy. If an original opening was formed and then closed off, the Chi is disturbed and a blockage occurs. Placing a mirror on the “old door” opening facing outward gives a feeling of openness to the closed off space and restores the flow. We had talked at length about color which should include the five necessary Elements used to enhance any space, and the location of all of the needed appliances used for coffee preparation since the couple had already purchased the building. The owners felt the Feng Shui crystals might cause customers to feel uncomfortable so the pure lead crystals were positioned inside the walls during the building process to help “circulate” good Chi! This method works very well as do the mirrors needed to deflect the ongoing hospital energy of the tall healing center. With these improvements in place, and six tall flag poles or lights installed to reflect the Chi back to the ridgepoles of the roof of the structure, the hospital remains a source for income but doesn’t press down on the smaller building.
I wish the couple blessings. Orange peels used in an opening ceremony would be nice and nine oranges set on the counter invites money, luck, happiness and a great smell or aromatherapy to the room. Add plants and live flowers inside and outside to top off the assurance of longevity in their new venture.
