Homes for Health? Use Feng Shui Design Hi, Caroline, We're about to start the design of our new house from the architect, and we want to design the house the Feng Shui way. We have two sons. Please recommend any readings which will help us understand the various places in the house. Our one son has minor autism; he is five years old. Thanks, Two Readers Dear Readers, Hello, I'm not completely sure as what your question is. Do you want a consultation by phone or email? I will explain the significance of using a trained Feng Shui consultant, as it will save the client valuable time and expense. The lot shape, placement of the house, the interior and exterior of the house plans and the design of the structure is of utmost importance. Will the house be built to the front of the lot, the back or middle? Money issues and health problems such as nervous conditions, circulatory, respiratory and excretory conditions can be related to poor design. Electrical wiring, sewage, plumbing, leaking pipes and similar fixture locations represent your body systems. Hallways, staircases, spiral and "mandarin duck" side by side, one going up while the other goes downward, can lead to ups and downs in your life, and body functions are reflected by these structural problems. Health conditions can be genetic-physical, environmental-pollution, flood, wind, electrical power poles and boxes, land shapes and weather conditions which are an imbalance in the five Elements of Water, Wood, Fire, Metal or Earth. A mental and spiritual imbalance can also be a clue to a bigger blockage problem in the design of the house in which you are now living, or maybe one from the past in which the illness manifested years before and is only showing up in the present. These suggestions are a way to diagnosis a past or current situation whether it is a sudden money loss or a slow, undignified relationship problem or maybe a health condition. Watch out for misaligned doorways in a long hallways or big doors across from small doors. Misaligned doorways can cause visual problems leading to brain function disorders. Continual visual disruption, or one eye seeing the distance view while the other eye is seeing a wall, can over time cause damage. Brain dysfunction can also be related to beams, overhangs at the entryway, toilets backed up to a bed between walls or uneven and slanted ceilings. What is going on at the front door side of the house? This Gua is associated to the head, ears and hands. Hang a large 50mm or more round faceted crystal in the center of the house for bringing balance to the home, or one over the center of the bed to help health problems. Bed direction is also to be evaluated for health issues. Each of the nine sections of the Bagua, a tool or template when placed correctly over the floor plan of any house or building or land shape, has a Mouth of Chi. Finding this correct mouth of entry or energy source connects your family to "the source." The key to good Feng Shui is making sure your floor plan doesn't block this flow of Chi which nourishes the life forces and the nine aspects of Career, Knowledge, Family, Wealth, Fame, Relationships, Children and Creativity, Helpful People and Travel and the Tai Chi-Center of the house which is related to Health. Each one of these sections also is assigned a body part, color, type of energy and shape. Your sons identify with the Gua or Gen (mountain) or the area immediately to the left right section of the home using the front door as a guide of entry for the Chi. The name given to this triad is Knowledge. Young sons up to the age of 15 learn well when their bedroom is located in this Gua; that is, unless that front bedroom is lined up with a T-Zone. This arrow type of energy is called Sha and the unseen results can be hard on the person in that room, as traffic will force this action all day and night straight into your home. His desk placement and bed position is a number-one consideration for health and learning. Leave the computer, along with the printer, fax machine and other electronics, in a room designed for family use. Corrections can be done on existing homes, but why not be advised when building a new house and choosing the best lot? I had a relative ask me about this situation when buying property, and I advised against the sale when I could see the garage lined up with a street pointing into their garage. A partial T-Zone lined up with the garage. Soon after, they bought the home and within one year, the woman lost her dream job after being given a huge bonus for the most productive person out of several thousand employees for that year, and within two weeks she was informed the company was closing. Her husband followed suit within three years. I can relate story after story on Sha energy and effects. Your youngest son's placement in your current home should be checked. Is his bed in the proper power position, is he in a bunk bed, or is his headboard against a bathroom wall, draining his energy down pipes while he sleeps, weakening the immune system? Does the ceiling slant, pressing on his body in some way? What is stored under his bed? This area must be cleared for Chi to be able to pass from one side to the other. What color clothes does he wear and what color is his room? Where does he sit at the dining table, and what are his eating habits? Sugar, milk and lactose products are a no-no. Cheese is a big problem along with too much citrus, which can cause mucus. Food dyes and electrical EMF's too close to beds can cause unexplained brain functions. It only takes a trained Feng Shui expert to see these blockages. A good placement for a younger child is close to the parents' room, as they feel the safer a few steps from the mother and father. The best location for the parents' bedroom is the far back right corner of the house, as this is the Gua for love life. It is time to look at the bigger problems, which we as a nation have overlooked - our interaction and reaction of our living spaces. Homes can support you or fight you. I choose to follow the rules set down centuries ago by experts who took hundreds of years to record nature and write down their findings. It worked then and it will now. Modern technology is fantastic when used in proper places such as an office or business locations, but please don't surround your home haven with excess wires and unseen negative energy flow, especially in the bedrooms, as it can cause ill health. Bathrooms facing the bed are also a big issue which can be solved by a crystal or curtain.
