Healing Actions for the Holidays!
Remember when you were young and relatives you hadnt seen for a year reacted? They might say, Look at you, look how tall you have grown. What has your mother been feeding you? Or maybe they might say, Arent you pretty, handsome, thin, tall, fat, slim, big, little, cute, interesting, darling, or You look just like your mother, father, grandma, grandpa, sister Sue or brother Jerry. Later, after a turkey dinner, they might decide you are lazy for not helping clear the table, rude for telling Aunt Ida the truth about not remembering her either, because she is fatter and has red hair instead of blushing blonde #9, or asking why Uncle Earl drinks too much and says strange things. Nothing ever stays the same except family. As the old saying goes, Everyone is crazy but me, and sometimes I wonder about me!
Just as seasons come and go from spring to winter, we as humans also travel the same circle of life and death. We change for a while when luck is at the top of our personal circle for a few years. But what goes up must come down. Just as sure as we find happiness in one area of our lives, another part of our being is traveling behind the moons shadow, peeking at the other side of ourselves. This is the Yang, Sun side and Yin the Moon side that need each other, just as family needs and wants to be a tribe, and in doing so, must embrace Aunt Ida and Uncle Earl, because they are still part of the whole. We have all come to this place as newborns and leave after our journey is complete. Never knowing how long, how short, how meaningful or fulfilling this experience might be, we cling to those who love us or say they dont love us because it is a comfortable or familiar place to arrive.
Just as energy is invisible, the impact of this unseen Chi or energy makes the skies dark or light, warm or cold, alive or dead. Lifes energies surge throughout the body as we smile, cry, eat, sleep, gossip, love or argue. Each of these actions creates a reaction. Eating the right things, sleeping enough, making love, smiling, practicing the art of happiness, being kind, being open and flexible, creating beauty and being of service will bring health, abundance, peace and joy.
The bible says worrying is a sin. What is a sin? Most religions have their own answers to this question, but it is first an attack on you. Worrying lowers the immune system and is considered an ego-related thought process. What makes a person think they can help anyone by worrying? Of course it is a natural mothers reaction, but it will only cause her harm in the long run. Just as deadly are gossip, bad thoughts, arguing to be right, hate, fear, guilt and telling your children to lie.
Just last night I was shocked by a parent who was obviously divorced or separated speaking loudly to his four children while in a line to get ice cream. I heard one child say to him, But what will we tell Mama? He angrily replied, Lie to her. Havent I told you before lie, lie, lie. All four kids were under 11 years old. They looked sad, shocked and teary eyed. Then he laughed and said, Heres your ice cream cones. Mixed messages flew into the air. Invisible but very potent arrow Chi pierced the air. This type of Chi will change their lives sooner rather than later. It could be the mother has made it impossible for the children to not lie; thats not the point. Words are powerful and have everlasting effects. I immediately placed an invisible golden and purple light around them, giving them protection and love. Light brings energy to any dark place.
As the holidays bring laughter, sadness for some and joy for others, be compassionate, forgiving of self and family members. Be one with the circle of life. Show the little ones tradition. Give time and attention to those who are suffering with depression, sickness or grief. Our arms radiate healing Chi and those we touch are softened by the grace and love of touch. Practice smiling every time you walk out the door, it could change a strangers life or someone close to home.
