Family Reunion 2002

Getaways, whether planned or impromptu, are fun and enjoyable ways to restore personal chi and stay healthy.

If you are having a problem finding time for personal enhancement, check for home for clues.

Clutter busting in two areas of the house could bring some well deserved vacation time. Using the bagua, a grid from Chinese ancient times, to find stagnant energy in the house provides you with an equal nine-sided formula to ease stress in your living and working environment. Laying this template over the floor plan, with the zone section called career aligned with the front door, allows you to find the two triads called Children and Creativity (located to the middle right rooms of the house or business) and Helpful People and Travel, found at the front far right section of the home. (If your home has this area "missing" or the room or garage protrudes, this extended room must be included in the floor plan.)

With a family reunion coming up, I needed to enhance these spaces in my home to support my intentions for finding the time to get away from the studio and enjoy my brief vacation. My Helpful People and Travel section, or qua, is missing from my house plan. Using the front yard to square off the "missing corner," I have placed a large gray stone round planter, placing it on the grass and in line with the outside walls, visually making a large oblong floor plan. Using a silver leafed plant in the planter to bring in the energy of this qua, I help myself to find others to support my ideas and goals. To further my expectations, bushes and plants are kept trimmed so the chi can flow easily around my home’s outside property. To double the purpose’s energy, I can also use my place of business’s Helpful People corner to intensify the suggestion in the form of a note pertaining to my wishes. Like a prayer or desire I ask a higher power to assist me with only the best sources of people and friends to support my plan. Placing the letter, note, written prayer in this section of the home gives your desire a natural energy boost. I always add a footnote to this action of purpose, "Please without any problems or complications!" This will automatically cancel any earthly desired intention not in my best interest.

Recently my mother’s people were having their yearly family reunion. Missing the last few, I was determined to make time for this occasion. Mother passed away several years ago. I miss her lightheartedness and joy of life. Being around the Sheppards renews my spirit and soul. A weekend with this fun-loving, God-fearing group brings mother closer to my heart. I received the invitation in February. It read: Once Again — It’s Reunion Time for the Sheppard Family! We hope you can all come and enjoy a day of good food, good fun, and much visiting! When? Saturday, June 1, 2002. We’ll eat at noon, but do come early and stay late.

Where? (See enclosed map.) If you get confused (we won’t use the word lost) call.

Bring 1. Yourselves and your loved ones

    1. Pictures, news, and "tall tales" to share.

Food will be provided.

Now, who could resist this invitation? I began planning my escape! Using all my Helpful People and Travel corners and Children and Creativity for the enhancement of joy and fun, making sure the clutter was terminated in those areas of the shop and home. Having a wonderful staff to take over during these getaways is crucial. I am blessed.

Next came the waiting game. Write and pray your intention — then let go and have the faith that the best will happen. That could also mean that the trip would not manifest. Remember we are only asking for the best outcome. Be willing to flow with the answer. Place your "contract" in the correct locations and go on with your life.

At the last minute my husband announces that he has four days off and wants to visit his Mom in Phoenix and see the grandkids. Yes! is my answer. The note placed in the correct areas of the home and business played out, with an unexpected twist. A double bonus for me. Four days in Phoenix with the kids. I would stay over then fly to Kansas City, take a week more and go south to Oklahoma to visit more family and friends, circle back up to Kansas City for the Big Reunion. Stay tuned for more family fun as the gathering takes place of over 70 loved ones.
