Buyers Beware, Check with Caroline Before Purchasing!

For those who missed out on a consultation this past April, I will be back in Benicia for Feng Shui consultations between July 30th to the 19th of August. Also, if you are buying a house it is a perfect time to check out the floor plan before a purchase, or to schedule an on-site consultation or update a former evaluation if you have been having any problems.

Here is one client that moves quite often and always sends me several house plans to check over before buying a home. She and her husband have learned, in a good way, it’s better to start with a good floor plan so their life is supported by the land, property shape and a good Feng Shui.

I love to get mail from past clients as they continue going forward in their lives. Using these Feng Shui skills I have suggested will help her husband in his Career and, in turn, benefit her new job as a staging professional.

Since the planet Earth has magnetic poles, all life forms and their cells, water, soil, wood, metal and the wind have an action and reaction effect on our bodies, our foods, our weather, the oceans and wind currents. Our choice of dwellings, which is an extension of us, forms a pattern in time and plays out the music of our decisions. Sometimes the record gets stuck and goes around and around playing the same tune, different day. Be aware of why and how the energies ebb and flow in your house.

Hi Caroline,

You came to our house two years ago. We live in Rocklin, have a gray house with a fountain as you enter. I hope you remember us. We have one daughter, she’s now 7. We were looking at a lot on a hill. We never did purchase it, but we are now looking at another home here in Rocklin. But I have a question regarding its placement.

The house sits facing south, and the front door is cocked to the south/southwest. The first room on the right is the office, and the room on the left is the living room. The dining room is in the middle. The kitchen, which is large with granite, etc. is in the far right corner (Partnership corner) from the front door. The family room is in the middle just off the kitchen, so it is in the north. There’s a guestroom in the Wealth corner with a full bath in the very corner of the Wealth corner. The garage is on the left of the front door if you are looking at it from the street. The back yard is in the north. The yard is huge, 17000 sq. ft. It has a hill with rock steps up to a cabana. A pool is on the right in the Partnership corner, not a big pool, and it’s sort of kidney shaped. It has a fireplace in the middle of the yard with a bar and barbecue. It’s a full island with stucco and granite top, sink and refrigerator. It’s great. There’s also a hot tub in the Wealth corner that sits directly next to the house. We like the backyard, it’s beautiful, but are there problems that you can see given this info? My other concern is the house sits on a ‘T.’ A road comes directly toward the house with a stop sign that faces the opposite direction of the house. There is a small tree that sits on the front lawn directly in front of the front door. I was hoping it would deflect the ‘T’ problem. It’s not a busy street and it’s fairly short.

The upstairs would entail master bedroom in the Wealth corner (as ours is now). My daughter would be in the Partnership corner, or she could be the other room in the middle of the house above the dining room.

My other concern is that my husband changed careers from the tennis industry to real estate. I know it usually takes a while to get going, and things are starting to pick up. I started my own business, too. I’m now an Accredited Staging Professional. I can help my husband with his listing clients. Before they put their house on the market, I can help them get it ready to sell, depersonalize it and pack up stuff and clean up to help it sell quickly and for more money.

So before we go and spend upwards of $750,000 for this house, I want to make sure it’s good for us. We’ve been pretty lucky here and I love this home, so the next one has to be GREAT, if you know what I mean.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

A Reader

Dear Reader,

Hello, I’m so happy to hear from you. I’m still teaching and doing Feng Shui consultations, only I’m not having a shoppe to tend to every day. Never say never, though. I still miss seeing people every day.

Your new house interest sounded good until you mentioned the position of the pool, the kitchen and placement of your daughter’s planned bedroom. This far back right corner inside and outside of the home is a romantic refuge, a parental retreat and a ‘command post’ area for grownups. Remember, this Gua or area of the home is the home of marriage. The kitchen could be okay with some adjustments. The Partnership section is a related Earth Element, adding too much Water to Earth creates mud or emotional problems. Adult sticky situations could make your daughter feel burdened or feel responsible for marriage communications between you and your husband. If you don’t mind your world revolving around this child, then a bedroom is this area could be helped by a large visible picture of you and your husband dominating the room.

Refer to your consultation sheet I did for you of your present home and visually overlay the Bagua or colored grid onto any home you are considering, lining the Black or Career Water line at the architectural front door to get the house properly aligned. Is this a slanted front door entry? Not always a good choice but can be "corrected" according to my Feng Shui Master teacher.

The home sounds beautiful. In your email explanation, which I may say is the best description I have ever received, you are giving me two more main reasons to keep looking for your dream home. One is the location of the bathroom in the far back left corner of the house. Flushing a toilet in the Prosperity and Wealth Gua tells me you both are familiar with hard work, money comes in, money goes out quickly. Cures can also be done with a bathroom in this corner, but better not to buy a house with this floor plan. Last, but most important, don’t buy any home in a T-zone (this is where cars coming into the area have to aim straight toward your house before turning). You may not think this constant energy is harmful, but the energy of cars coming and going day and night is similar to having a pointed finger and your home. Without a hedge, fence or trees to break the sha Chi, your family is prone to Health and Career difficulties.

Happy hunting!!! Your new Career sounds wonderful and it is very popular. Use the Bagua and Elements, shapes and colors for enhancements and you will be successful. Check my websites for more ideas and the newspaper column for question and answers.

Hi Caroline,

Wow, I didn’t expect to hear from you so soon, but thank you! After reviewing the house again, we decided not to purchase the house. It just didn’t feel right. As I was typing the email to you and looking at the Bagua floor plan you gave us, it wasn’t sounding so good anymore. We love our current house and will only move if we find the RIGHT house! Keep in touch.

Sincerely,

A Reader
